This is an international Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory lobby card, the first in a set of eight. These cards were printed in the United States (see below) before being shipped internationally. Starring Gene Wilder, this 1971 classic is a musical adaptation of Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The story of Willy Wonka and his famous factory has been told in film in several forms, a pale Johnny Depp took on the role in a 2005 film adaptation, and Timothée Chalamet plays the titular Wonka in a musical prequel story.

The scene depicted in this lobby card is Augustus Gloop falling into the chocolate river. Note that in this movie, the liquid in the chocolate river was comprised of leftover coffee dregs.

Measures 11 by 14 inches (28 by 36 cm). In excellent paperbacked condition.
